Ouchie Mama!!

I have been MIA - just nothing exciting going on in my life. BORING!

I had a HSG this morning and holy crap did it hurt. Today was the first day I have ever thought "man, I'm not going to be able to have a med-free labor." The speculum was first, then the catheter for the dye. When she put the catheter up there, I thought I was going to CRAWL OFF THE TABLE!!! I've never felt so much pressure in my life. It was like taking all the normal cramps I get during my period and putting them into 5 minutes. OUCHIE!!!!

The nurse tells me before she starts, some people say it doesn't hurt and some people say it's like menstrual cramps. BULL SH*T! I told her the people that say it doesn't hurt....THEY LIE!!! She laughed.

So the outcome...my right tube is open, left tube isn't. DANG IT! I have a heart shaped uterus and apparently it is not retroverted (well today anyway).

My husband asked...how do they fix it? I said surgery I guess...is that right? I always have ovulation pain on the left side...NEVER the right. The one tube that's open doesn't ovulate (as far as I can tell). HOW WONDERFUL! (sarcasm)

Also, does anyone feel like their uterus and their bowels are linked. She put the catheter in and it felt like I was going to crap myself! HAHA! I'm just wondering if that's normal?

My husband is more than likely going to have to have knee surgery. He has a piece of bone floating around in his knee and a torn miniscus (they believe). Prayer Buddy - one more thing to add to the ever growing list :)

OH - the receptionist at the RE said to have a blood test done on CD21. They actually mean 7dpo, right?

  1. Hi,
I had an HSG a few years ago, and remember that it was pretty uncomfortable. Not only did it feel worse than major cramps, it made like I was going to have diarreah! I could put up with the pain, but would have died if I'd pooped on the table! LOL

    Will be praying for you.

  2. 7dpo-exactly.
I am sorry for the pain. I have heard those hurt really bad. I feel grateful mine was done when I was under anesthesia having a lap with Dr. Hilgers.
I know Dr. Hilgers does a tube repair, even when others say it can't be done. He is a pro at it and the only man I'd trust with my tubes. I have no idea if that an option, just throwing it out there. Others would know better other napro trained surgeons (maybe stegman) that might be closer. I am woefully unread on your background or location so forgive me if this is irrelevant.

  3. Yep, I have had one of those and I wanted to scream out. I got the second one during my 2nd surgery. It seems we have the same problem. I have been trying to get PG for more than a year with a right blocked tube and only ovulation happening on the right. What a waste of time.

  4. i had one and it felt kind of like cramps....does that mean my cramps are just really bad?
also, i wrote this somewhere else too, but i recently discovered that my ovulation pain isn't necessarily associated with which ovary is actually ovulating. i had the pain on the right and thought for SURE it was righty ovulating, but the doc checked (via ultrasound) and oddly enough it was lefty. what does that mean?!?

  5. You are so right! The women that say that HCG's don't hurt are LIARS!!!!

I had one early in the morning and then I went to work to do parent-teacher interviews. I thought I was going to die.

I'm so sorry that you had the same painful experience :(

  6. I had one too and it hurt BAD!! And the doctor told me both tubes were blocked.

Then I went to PPVI and Dr. H told me sometimes those tests can show the tubes are blocked when they are really not--that's why he does the selective HSG as opposed to the regular one. I get to have another one in December (oh goody) but at least I get to be partially sedated for that one.

I wish someone had told me how bad it was going to hurt!!

Hopefully they can get your problems fixed and get you pregnant!! :-)

It is hard to believe that anything MBT so inherently ugly as the MBT shoe could ever catch on discount mbt shoes with either the younger generation or the fitness fanatics but it has. These are pretty bold claims but there is no doubt that MBT shoes are mbt discount shoes popular both as recreation and sportswear. A study mbt shoes review by Sheffield Hallam University recently concluded that MBT shoes were better for the knees ankles mbt shoes sale than normal shoes. The study also concluded that if mbt shoes cheap you walk correctly you would take shorter strides while walking in MBTs. Shorter mbt shoes clearance strides would mean more steps and more expending of energy and this mbt sneakers would increase your calorie burn.
